What does it mean to dream of death? Different and curious interpretations

Have you ever dreamed of someone who has already died? Or maybe you had a living dream that dies? Maybe you have had more than one dream that has to do with death itself, and you woke up with a rather strange feeling, right? Don’t worry!

Death dreams are quite common and more normal than we can think. But what does it mean to dream of death? We are sure that more than once you have had this same question and you have not known how to give an accurate answer and adapt to your own life.

That’s the end! In Diario Female we have contacted Javier Esteban, dream therapist and expert in the field, to know the different and curious interpretations that this dream has with death. You can’t miss any detail of your explanations!

When death appears in a dream, they can have several meanings, all of them equally interesting. In addition, we must bear in mind that with death and with the world of the dead there has always been a connection, a collective interest in ‘beyond’. In fact, there are many who speak daily with their deceased to remember themselves that they are still present in their lives, although they can no longer see them.

+ Dream that someone alive dies

First, we can see that we can dream of the death of nearby beings without them being killed. This happens, above all, when there has been a sentimental fracture among them, a disconnection with that person, a fight in which you have thought that for you “is dead” (according to the popular Spanish saying). Somehow you can dream that someone dies, because for you this person has died symbolically, you don’t want to have it in your life and much less you want to know anything about him/her.

+ Dream with a person who has already died

Other times we simply dream of a person who has died and who comes to see us, or appears to us. And the truth is that any of these situations are quite impressive. With this frequent dream, you have the impression that he is completely alive, that he has come to tell you something.

This fact usually occurs in people who have had a loss of an extremely large loved one, who are in the process of mourning or mourning. In these cases we can look for two interpretations: one that has more to do with the esotericism and traditional wisdom that points to somehow we can connect with the dead, but this is not too true. For its part, the exoteric interpretation ensures that when you have this dream the dead person for you has not died, that is, somehow it is still alive within you, it remains in your memory and in your heart. The dreams of death are essentially and ultimately, a kind of “chitamiedos.”

In this sense, and as Javier Esteban points out, if we go to the classics we can think as some philosophers say that we actually dream to wake up every morning. That is, each awakening helps us to realize that we are dying continuously. Life is a dream, fate reminds us and awakening would be like ‘beyond’.

Throughout history, for more centuries that have passed, the relationship of dreams and the future has always been thought of. It was believed that these dream experiences can be able to give us news of the future, to advance events that we will live later. But is this true?

Freud concluded that premonitory dreams are a kind of mirages. That is, and to give an example, if someone tells you that later you are going to eat soup and you forget, then you dream it and the next day you are eating soup, it is not that it has been a premonitory dream but that you had forgotten and your subconscious has remembered it through the dream.

Another of the reasons why we can think that a dream is premonitory is intuition. For example, someone in your family is very sick and you dream that this person is going to die. Maybe this happens but not because you have dreamed it, but because of the fact that the person was already sick and the end was expected.

However, it is found that there are dreams of very specific and premonitory people. In the radical unconscious everything is communicated, it is like the butterfly effect. We are all connected in an energy field and somehow we are capable, in a deep unconscious, to predict time. According to Javier Esteban, in the unconscious we can go both forward and behind.

In general, people’s dreams are normal, and if they ever think that it is premonitory, it should be analyzed so that it has not occurred by intuition or mirage.
